Get In The Know

Many people go years without knowing what type of student loans they have. That is a big mistake not to know whether you have federal loans, private loans, or both. If you have private loans you need to be careful because they can have interest rates that can go up and make your payments unbearable. Also the type of loans that you have will determine your repayment plans if you should need one.

Live Beneath Your Means

Your current and future salary is suppose to take care of your everyday expenses. If you have thousands of dollars in student loan debt that also needs to be taken into account. If you have thousands of dollars in student debt you need to live below your means. It does not matter if you have been out of college for ten years, it is time to make some financial adjustments. Although your paycheck may be $3000 a month your living expenses need to be $1500 a month or less so you can put the rest towards paying off your student loans.

Build A Treasure Chest

While you are paying off your student loan debt you also need to be saving money. Work your way up to $1500 in savings so that you can be ready for any emergency that comes your way.
