Many people think I don’t buy anything. People think all I spend my money on is food and monthly expenses. I am just like everyone else. I go into stores and online and buy all kinds of things.

I do ask myself a question before I buy anything. Am I making my money work for me?

Of course every time I buy groceries my money is working for me because the food is keeping me from starvation. Where I can mess up is when I buy food that ends up being wasted. Wasted food is wasted money. Money that could have been used for something else.

We all know what Friday is coming up this week and it is a day where it is very easy for our money to work against us.

Stores lure us in with discounted toasters only to trick us into spending money on things that we don’t need. On things that keep our money from working for us.

If you want to make your money work for you then you should look at every expense carefully before making it. Especially when it comes to Black Friday.

For example I need a new Apple MacBook Pro which everyone knows is a big ticket item. I have been researching it for over a month. My MAC is the lifeblood of my business and I so I have to get one.

But I don’t have to pay full price!

I have already found one for $200 less than retail, but I am waiting until this Black Friday to see if I can find one even lower.

This is making my money work for me.

Before you go shopping this week whether it is in a store or online make sure you have answered the question “Am I making my money work for me?”
